The children

The children seen on this page are orphans due to many different reasons. Why they are orphaned and what happened to make them orphans is not really the focus of this particular page. The focus of this page is to open the eyes of the viewers to the needs of these children.

Due to funding shortages for the orphanages, children are forced to sleep two or three to a single sized bed. Through prayer and support, Jesus Word Ministries is changing the living conditions for many of these children.

Many days the children must miss eating due to a shortage of food or money to buy food. Each child is giving one bowl to eat out of. After the completion of the meal, they dip the bowl in a pan of water and put the dish in a set place. Due to unsanitary conditions, several children have hepatitis and cannot eat with the other children.

Often the children will go without shoes even during the winter. Again, this is due to a lack of finances. Many only have the clothes on their back. Each child takes turns washing their clothes in a small bucket.
