THE TRUTH IS UNCHANGEABLE
Truth is Unchangeable. A fact can change, like one is sick, and then is better. Look at the popular illusion of the vase, or face. Just two curved lines on paper. The person inspecting the image sees two people facing each other, or a beautiful vase opened at the top and bottom. Many years I have looked at this image. I have only seen two possible choices. There is not a third. This is important point to recognize; because, it exemplifies choices, decisions we make between sets of two: doing good or evil - not, “it‘s okay to sin“, turning to the right or left - no, “continuing in the same direction” as a third choice in the metaphor, Receiving Jesus as A Savior in one’s life or going to Heaven by another path - no, as Born Again Believers we Know “Jesus is the Only Way.”
The perspective of the person looking at the vase determines what is seen. After inspecting this illusion many times, I know to shift my eyes to see both images. But an inspecting person’s first time making their determination is based on their idealized perspective. One recognizes what is familiar in their own world view. They see what is immediately familiar from their surroundings, and experiences, and needs, or desires. People see and are influenced by what they are looking for, not by what they are looking at.
This illustration has more to reveal, let us talk about religion. To make the image we want people to recognize, we can add horizontal lines across the top of both curved vertical lines meeting in the middle, and extending past the imaged head portraying a hat. Looking intently, one can still imagine a vase with ornamental trimming. We can even draw a straight horizontal line connecting the bottoms of the curved vertical lines, and even the chances of seeing either image: vase or face. But, adding more features like: dots where one expects the nose and eyes, semi-circular lines and dots with the expectation of ears, and even a multitude of straight vertical lines for hair under the hat, one can see the faces, but not quickly recognize the vase.
So our challenge and instruction should be clear, Teach what Holy Spirit Instructs us to Say. People are Longing to Come To Jesus. We do not have to add anything to the Gospel. Everyone will recognize the Truth when it is Put In Front Of Them. By us desiring to make the image easier to see, a person can still pick out the other image: casting doubts on 'our presentation.' We, who are the Willing Vessels for Jesus’ Use, should Be There and Speak What We Are Instructed To Say. The Truth Speaks for Itself. And like looking at the illusion, We Need Only Show it to the lost. We do not need to explain, or apologize. Only Speak the Word, and those Seeking The Truth will Receive from Holy Spirit The Truth, Jesus Our Lord and Savior.
