Where Do I Begin?
Many Christians are sitting around, wishing to do something for the Lord. Some, with true hearts, say they don't want to miss it with God by going down a wrong path. Instead of doing something they choose to do nothing.
One minister said, in addressing this noncommital attitude, "The beginning stages of serving God is like jumping in to a massive funnel. If you don't know what to do, just jump in and do everything."
A funnel is extremely wide at the opening but then narrows down to a small end. In the beginning, as you do anything and everything for the Lord, He will narrow down the course you are to take and will position you where you need to be. You will find out to which areas you are anointed and to which areas you need to back away from.
Don't try a force God to put you in an area that you are not suited. You must stay within the boundries of His grace for your life. Also, don't try to rush God by self promoting yourself. Before you can walk you must crawl. God will not put you in a position of authority until you first learn to submit to authority.
Remember, God does not intend all the Body to be in the five fold ministry (Apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher, evangelist) teaching from the pulpit. Your calling may be working in the childrens church, prison ministry, or parking lot attendant, etc. The service to the Lord is what is important, not the position. We are all called to minister to the lost whether it is from the pulpit or the parking lot. If God places you in a certain position, make it your goal to be the best wherever it may be.
